Expansion Valves
Expansion valves, also referred to as Thermal Expansion Valves (TXV) or orifice tubes, are very important to the air conditioning system in your vehicle. The expansion valve separates the high pressure and low pressure sides of the air-conditioning refrigerant line, and is installed right before the high pressure liquid enters the evaporator. In order to maintain optimum cooling in the evaporator, expansion valves are used to precisely regulate the flow of refrigerant.
